Mt. Yake (Yake-dake)

You can see Mt. Yake from the observatory just in front of Chirorian. The observatory is in a small park, where you can relax. Mt. Yake is an active volcano. The height is 2,455m and many mountaineers climb it. *The observatory is 30 seconds on foot from the lodging.

Northern Alps Bridge

This is the place to see the view we highly recommend. Especially from now on, the autumn tints become excellent. You'll forget time in the beauty of autumn and the grandeur of the Northern Alps. *It is 5 minutes by car from the lodging.

Shin Hotaka Ropeway

It is Shin Hotaka Ropeway that most people who came to Shin Hotaka hot spring for the sightseeing ride. Ropeway #1 takes you to "Nabedaira Kougen". Then ropeway #2 takes you to "Nishi Hotaka Guchi" of the height of 2,156m. Enjoy the air walk of the entire length 3,200m. An impressive panorama spreads out especially on a fine day. Sports Park, tennis court

There is a pleasant tennis court with a good view nearby. It is a good place for you, who like tennis. There are 4 hard courts. Fee 1 court/ 1 hour: 1,580 yen, 1 court/ 1 day: 6,300yen, 1 court/ half a day: 4,200 yen *It is 3 minutes by car from the lodging.

Bear Ranch

"Okuhida Bear Ranch" is along Route 471 of Fukuchi hot spring. There are Japanese Bear, Polar Bear, Brown Bear, Himalayan Bear and Raccoon here. It is a good place to take your kids. There are cute bear cubs, too. *It is 30 minutes by car from the lodging. Link Information

Autumnal tints

In September, trees of Okuhida begin to turn red little by little, and the contrast of the trees and the blue sky becomes brilliant. A ridgeline of the Northern Alps gets clear in the distance and it is a wonderful view. You can meet such scenery in everywhere in Nakao Kougen. Come and enjoy the autumnal tints, a hot spring and wonderful cooking, the taste of autumn!

Kamikochi

It is a viewpoint which you can't miss as a place to drop in, on the way to and from Shin Hotaka hot spring. Wonderful and unforgettable scenery spreads out; North Alpine mountains, Kappa Bridge over Azusa River, Taisho Pond in stillness, and so on. *It is about 1 hour and 30 minutes by car from the lodging.

Hirayu Waterfall

It is one of the three most famous waterfalls in Hida. A rainbow is applied to the waterfall according to the weather in the early spring when there is much amount of water, and it is excellent. *It is about 1 hour by car from the lodging.
