Kamakura (snow hut) Festival
Annual "Kamakura Festival"
starts from February 1!

There is a hearth in Kamakura.
From February 1 to February 14 (Sun).
This is an event only in snowy Hida region.
The huge Kamakura is built.
In the Kamakura, there are a hearth and a bar, too.
Please come and enjoy by all means!
You can get warm in Kamakura
when the outside is cold.

Why don't you enjoy natural walk,
watching the magnificent winter Northern Alps?
It is not a ski.
This is "kanjiki", snowshoes.
People had used kanjiki to walk over snow in old days.
They are so light and it makes it easy to walk over snow.
You can go anywhere as long as it is covered with snow.
New discovery is waiting for you!
Trekking about snow field of Okuhida in a pair of snowshoes.
Naoto Kawakami, an officially recognized guide of
"Hida Mountain Guides Association" will guide you!
Kawakami usually is a chef of this inn.

Beginner Course
(Northern Alps Bridge - Nabedaira Kougen)
After a brief lesson,
you will go for a trekking around
Nabedaira Kougen.
When it is fine, you can see
magnificent mountains of Northern
Alps covered with snow.
Enjoy the overwhelming scenery.
The course is easy for a beginner.
>> Required time: 2 hours
>> Fee: 3,000 yen
(with a snack)
It includes snowshoes rental fee.

Long
Course
(Northern Alps Bridge - Nabedaira Kougen (one
round)
You can go to places where
you cannot go in summer.
You may come across a rabbit
or an antelope in the forest.
There is a lunch time on the way
with a hot meal.
It is wonderful to have a meal
in nature!

>> Fee: 5,000 yen
(with lunch)
It includes snowshoes rental fee. |

An application: It is a plan for the lodging guests.
Please apply for it at the time of the reservation.
* Both courses are offered at half price
to guests who stay more than 2 nights,.

It is fun to walk in snowshoes!
